At 7 a.m. in Bangalore, the streets are already alive with the buzz of a city that never stops moving. Weaving through the morning traffic—past food stalls, motorbikes, and the occasional cow—it’s easy to see why Bangalore is called the Silicon Valley of India. The city pulses with energy, and inside Advisor360°’s India office, that energy is everywhere.
Dena Upton and I spent an exciting, immersive week at our Bangalore office, connecting with the 107 employees who help drive innovation, product development, recruiting and customer success from this critical hub.
More Than an “Offshore” Team
Many technology companies silo their offshore teams. We take a very different approach. Our India team is a fully integrated part of our multi-site development strategy. Working alongside Advisor360° colleagues in the U.S. and Belfast to build, enhance, and scale our products, their contributions aren’t limited to maintenance or backend work—they’re actively shaping the future of our software, including our AI initiatives and core platform advancements.
Our India team contributes across the Advisor360° landscape, from development and engineering focused on Digital Onboarding, Compliance, CRM, our Mobil app and more, to HR/Recruiting, Customer Support and IT.
This model allows us to operate with agility across geographies. But the success of our model isn’t chiefly about efficiency—it’s about people. What stands out to both Dena and me is the strong sense of collaboration and engagement. Our India-based colleagues are deeply invested in our company’s mission, and they are helping to lead innovation across Advisor360°.
The People Driving Innovation
The energy in our Bangalore office is palpable. Walking through the space, you can feel the momentum—the hunger to invent and drive our technology forward.
The appetite for AI, machine learning, and advanced development work came through in multiple discussions. Our talented India-based engineers are doing excellent work in agentic AI—including helping us build artificial intelligence into our digital onboarding and advisor dashboard solutions. I also spoke with several others who are helping us differentiate in the compliance and advisor oversight area with AI.
There’s a real hunger to push the boundaries of what’s possible. There’s also a growing leadership presence in the office—including our Chief Architect Kartik Deshpande. Our India team members are taking on greater responsibility and positioning themselves as key players in our future.
Beyond product innovation, the Bangalore office is also pioneering our approach to nascent talent development. Our India-based talent acquisition team has built strong university partnerships, creating a steady pipeline of skilled engineers. This has led to the successful hiring and training of young, high-potential employees—a model we plan to bring to the U.S.
Growth and Collaboration Across Time Zones
Our interactions reaffirmed how crucial career development is to engagement and success. One of the themes that came up frequently was the desire for learning opportunities. Whether it’s expanding access to technical certifications or leadership development tracks, our team in Bangalore is eager to grow.
We also talked about increasing face-to-face collaboration between teams. There’s a strong desire for cross-office exchange, whether through structured mentorships or an on-site rotation program where Bangalore-based team members spend time in our U.S. headquarters. Not only would this foster deeper relationships, but it would also help ensure that knowledge and culture are shared across locations.
As much as working across time zones presents a path to innovate, it also creates challenges. The India team is very well-integrated into our engineering and product workflows, but there’s always room to strengthen connections. Whether it’s reducing meeting fatigue by optimizing collaboration times or ensuring product teams have better representation across locations, we’re thinking critically and creatively about how to make sure employees across locations feel involved in the Advisor360° experience.
Looking Ahead
One of the things Dena mentioned during our trip stuck with me. “There’s this strong entrepreneurial spirit in the office,” she said. “You can see it in the way people approach their work—they’re constantly asking, ‘How can I make this better?’” That kind of mindset is invaluable in a company like ours.
We’re building something truly special at Advisor360° and our global team is at the heart of it. They’re pushing product innovation forward, contributing to our AI and machine learning strategy, and strengthening our multi-site development model.
Our message to our Bangalore team is simple—your work is driving innovation, and we are committed to your growth. And for our customers, partners, and future employees, one thing is certain—the best is yet to come.
