Job Brief
Advisor360 team is seeking a Database Administrator for Microsoft SQL Server with a strong operational background to build and enhance databases in a hybrid-cloud environment. This role will require a balance of tactical and strategic knowledge, ranging from the ability to deep-dive customer impacting issues in real-time to driving long-term data strategy and implementation.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all database servers in the environment including lower environments.
- Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server
- Builds and reports on SQL environment performance and availability metrics and takes appropriate actions to implement best practices and optimize performance.
- Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects.
- Identify patterns that impact the performance, durability, reliability, or availability of our databases and eliminate through the application of automation or other technical innovation.
- Establish and deliver on a long-term technical vision for overall data strategy, work alongside service teams to eliminate a monolithic application and shift to microservices.
- Lead and document database best practices for other cross-functional team members.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies, bring new ideas and approaches to the teams.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, or similar role
- 10+ years of experience with RDBMS systems (examples: MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- 10+ years of leading database design and architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling, and performance)
- 5+ years of experience in one of the following languages (or equivalent): Python, Ruby, Java, or Perl
- Experience as a mentor, technical lead or leading an engineering team.
- Experience in UNIX and Windows environments.
